Weave employee engagement into the employee experience

In the latest employee engagement article from Gallup, they discovered that only 19% of employees were extremely satisfied with their company as a place to work.  From recruitment to development to everyday interactions, the experience employees have within an organisation directly impacts their motivation, their productivity and, ultimately, their engagement. They also found that, when the employee experience is not linked to engagement, it leads to disengagement, high turnover and limits growth. In fact, if employees believe they don't have opportunities to grow professionally they may feel stuck, disengaged or undervalued.

As a business leader, what can you do? Design an engaging associate experience that starts on the day they join you and then ensure that you focus on their professional development throughout their career. Here are a couple of simple actions you can take:

·      ensure that you have a great onboarding experience that integrates the new employee into company culture and purpose.

·      high performing employees seek development and this needs to be structured and targeted to support business results.
